Harrisburg’s dynamic urban hub and foundation to the development of the Greater Harrisburg Metropolitan Area. Comprises the original borough laid out by John Harris, Jr., in 1785. Now the cultural, business, government and entertainment nucleus of the region. Note striking contrasts among historic landmarks and neighborhood with energetic contemporary skyscrapers and urban complexes with the broad neoclassical expanses of the Capitol Complex.
