MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH AFTERNOON SHOOTING
Harrisburg, PA Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said a male individual has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred around 2:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of N. 3rd Street.
Mayor Reed said Harrisburg Police were called to the area at 2:18 p.m. after receiving reports of a person that had been shot in the leg. Upon arrival, police identified a female victim as having been shot twice in the knee area. The victim, a 60-year-old City resident, was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. The shooting allegedly resulted from a domestic dispute.
Reed said Harrisburg Police soon took Charles Patterson, 73, also a City resident, into custody in the 1200 block of Bailey Street. Patterson is being charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person. He is being remanded to Dauphin County Prison.
The victims name has not yet been released by police.
