HARRISBURG POLICE INVESTIGATING AFTERNOON SHOOTING

 

Harrisburg, PA – Mayor Stephen R. Reed this afternoon said Harrisburg Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the area of N. 16th and Walnut Streets.

Reed said multiple calls were received around that time indicating that gunfire was heard in the area and a victim had been shot. Upon arrival, police identified a 16-year-old male who had been shot in the lower back. The individual was immediately transported to a local hospital to undergo treatment. His condition was listed as critical at the time of this release (5:30 p.m.).

Reed said Harrisburg Police are actively investigating the shooting and indicated that no other details are available at this time.
