MAN WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH OVERNIGHT HOMICIDE

Harrisburg, PA – Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said that an overnight shooting in the 2100 block of Penn Street has left one man dead.

Reed said Harrisburg Police were dispatched to the area around 1:15a.m. (1/6) after receiving calls of multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, police found that Christopher Smalls, 28, of Brooklyn, NY, had been shot at least once in the upper body. Smalls was taken to a local hospital and was soon pronounced deceased as a result of his wounds.

The Mayor said the incident, which occurred during a large gathering in the area, appears to have been the result of an argument between the victim and the suspect. Police and detectives interviewed witnesses throughout the night.

Reed said Harrisburg Police are currently looking for Leonardo Olmeda-Pagan, 34, of the 1100 block of Cloverly Road, for his involvement in last night’s homicide. Olmeda-Pagan is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Any persons with information as to the whereabouts of Olmeda-Pagan or any additional information on the homicide should confidentially call Harrisburg Police at 255-3131 or Dauphin County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PATIPS.
