ARREST MADE IN RECENT HOMICIDE
Harrisburg, PA Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said an arrest has been made in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 2100 block of Penn Street on January 6, 2008.
Reed said Leonardo Olmeda-Pagan, 34, of the 1400 block of S. 15th Street, turned himself in to Harrisburg Police today without incident. Olmeda-Pagan is being charged with Criminal Homicide.
Reed said Olmeda-Pagan has been wanted by Harrisburg Police since Christopher Smalls, 28, of Brooklyn, NY, was fatally shot on January 6. Smalls was shot during a large gathering in the area after an argument ensued with the suspect.
Reed said Harrisburg Police had been actively searching for Olmeda-Pagan since the incident occurred. Police searched the houses of known relatives and acquaintances. Olmeda-Pagan turned himself in after family members advised him of the massive manhunt.
The Mayor said Olmeda-Pagan is being charged today and will be remanded to Dauphin County Prison this afternoon.
