CITY POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN TODAY’S HOMICIDE

Mayor Stephen R. Reed this afternoon said that Harrisburg Police are actively investigating a daytime shooting that occurred at the first block of North Summit Street in Allison Hill. The shooting incident left one dead.

Reed said that City Police were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of shots fired just after 11:00 a.m. Officers soon identified the victim as Harold Cuff, a 42-year-old black male and City resident. Cuff was pronounced dead upon arrival.

An apparent argument between Cuff and several other individuals led to the shooting. Once Cuff was shot, several individuals fled the scene by car.

Reed said City Police are currently looking for Jaquann McCready in connection with today’s homicide. He said that McCready is considered a person of interest at this time.

Any persons with information as to the whereabouts of McCready or any information on the homicide should confidentially call City Police at 255-3131.
