TWO SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN OVERNIGHT ROBBERIES; POLICE ALSO SEEK HELP IN IDENTIFYING VEHICLE IN UNRELATED CRIME
Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said that Harrisburg Police are seeking information on two individuals involved in a pair of related overnight robberies. Mayor Reed said Harrisburg Police are looking for two suspects, one Hispanic male and the other either a Hispanic or light-skinned black male. Both of these men are in their early 20’s, have medium builds, were wearing tan pants, red bandanas, and white sneakers. One of the men was about 5’10’’ with a mustache and a black jacket. The other male was about 5’6’’ with a white jacket. Both of the assailants were armed with silver handguns. The Mayor said that the first robbery occurred at 10:24 p.m. at King’s Food Store at 2727 N. 6th Street. The two suspects, armed with red bandanas over their faces, stole several hundred dollars in cash and a carton of cigarettes before fleeing on foot. The second robbery occurred 30 minutes later at 10:54 p.m. at Emerald Chinese Restaurant at 2300 N. 3rd Street. The two suspected men, bearing the same description as those in the King’s Food Store robbery, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. While both of the stores were robbed at gunpoint, there were no injuries related to either of the robberies, said Mayor Reed. Video surveillance of the robberies should be available within the next 24 hours and will be released if necessary, said the Mayor. Any persons with information relating to either of the overnight robberies should confidentially call Harrisburg Police at (717) 255-3131. Mayor Reed said that Harrisburg Police are also attempting to contact the driver of a vehicle which was located near the scene of the October 24 shooting in which Eric D. Cooper, 33, of the 5000 block of Winding Way in Lower Paxton Twp., was killed in the 1800 block of Brookwood Street. Harrisburg Police believe the driver of this unknown vehicle was an eye-witness to the homicide and urge this individual to come forward. Mayor Reed urged anyone with information on the unknown vehicle or its driver to confidentially call Harrisburg Police at (717) 255-3131.
