TWO UNRELATED OVERNIGHT SHOOTINGS BEING INVESTIGATEDMayor Stephen R. Reed today said that Harrisburg Police are investigating two shootings, one occurring Sunday night and the second early Monday morning. The first shooting occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Sunday night (10/14) near the 1200 block of Market Street. The victim, a 31-year-old black male, was shot in the back and was taken to a nearby hospital. His wounds are not thought to be life-threatening. The second shooting occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday morning (10/15) near the 2500 block of N. 6th Street. The victim, a 21-year-old black male, was shot in the leg and was taken to a nearby hospital. His wounds are also not thought to be life-threatening. Mayor Reed said that while both investigations are ongoing, police have not yet released the names of any suspects at this time. He said that more information may become available after City Police interview the two victims. It does not appear that the two incidents are related.
