BOMB THREAT TO SCHOOL RESULTS IN TWO ARRESTS

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today reported that a bomb threat was telephoned to the Rowland School at 19th & Derry Streets at 12:26 p.m. today, resulting in the evacuation of the school.

Police investigation led them to a residence in the 1900 block of Susquehanna Street where further law enforcement activity identified two juveniles responsible for making the call.

Both have been arrested and have been remanded to the Schaffner Detention Center on charges of Making Terroristic Threats, Filing a False Report to Law Enforcement Authorities, Disorderly Conduct and Conspiracy to Make Terroristic Threats.

Reed said: “Making such threats is not a prank. It is a serious crime and will not be tolerated for an instant.”
