BANK ROBBER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY; FELON WANTED IN NEW YORK ALSO ARRESTED

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that Harrisburg Police have arrested 17-year old Justin Bryant, of N. Summit Street, who was being sought by Swatara Township police on bank robbery charges. Police also arrested 17-year old Gale Green Jr., who is wanted in New York on weapons law violations.

Reed said both suspects were taken into custody shortly after 9 a.m. this morning without incident. Police had received information on the whereabouts of Bryant and Green and were on their way to arrest them when officers spotted them near 10th and Market Streets. The pair were quickly taken into custody without incident, and told police they were just on their way to turn themselves in.

The Mayor said Bryant will now be transferred to Swatara Township police to face charges stemming from a bank robbery in the township. Green was arrested on the outstanding New York warrant, and police also found marijuana on him, leading to additional drug charges being lodged. Green will be handed over to New York police within the next few days. Both are being charged as adults. .
