“THE QUARTER” ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX ADDS NEW ORLEANS FLAIR TO DOWNTOWN

Downtown’s vibrant Restaurant Row was significantly enhanced today as Mayor Stephen R. Reed cut the ribbon to officially open “The Quarter”, a major new dining and entertainment complex at 321 N. 2nd Street. The magnificent 4-story complex reflects New Orleans’ famed Bourbon Street décor and atmosphere, and becomes the largest nightspot in downtown Harrisburg.

Reed said the unique new attraction is owned and operated by successful midstate entrepreneur and developer Bramm Hattingh, of Bramm International Inc., a real estate development and entertainment facility management and operations firm. Hattingh also owns and operates the popular Fast Eddie’s Billiard Parlor and Saloon in Carlisle.

Reed said Hattingh purchased the building in late 2004 and has undertaken a multimillion dollar rehabilitation and upgrade of the 20,000 sq. ft. complex, resulting in 5 differently themed levels capable of holding nearly 1,500 patrons, making it the largest dining and entertainment point of destination in downtown. 70 new full and part time jobs are created by the exciting new attraction.

The Mayor said The Quarter features the “Gin Mill”, an intimate basement club highlighted by a steaming antique gin mill and regular live entertainment. The open-air, street-level first floor, called “Oceans 321”, features Restaurant Row’s first seafood-specialty restaurant and raw bar, with indoor and outdoor dining. The second floor “Knockers” sports bar features state-of-the-art flat screen televisions and billiards, darts and electronic games. On The Quarter’s third floor is the distinctive “La Vie” dance club, open only on weekends, and atop the complex later this summer will be the open-air “Quarter Deck”. The different floors will also be available for private rentals and functions.

“The Quarter” takes downtown’s dining and entertainment opportunities to another level,” said the Mayor, “offering a variety of foods, dj and live music, sports, and open air ambience all contained in a beautifully restored attraction that is in itself a reason to come to Harrisburg.”

Reed said The Quarter is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., with food service offered until Midnight. The Quarter can be reached at (717) 234.4656, and via the Internet at www.TheQuarter.us.
