“SHEAR INSANITY” BEAUTY SALON OPENS UPTOWNMayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to officially open the new “Shear Insanity” beauty salon at 2200 North 6th Street in Uptown Harrisburg. The full-service hair and beauty salon offers a wide array of services and products for the discerning beauty consumer. Reed said “Shear Insanity” is owned and operated by Tashia Lester, and is partially financed through a Business Development Loan from the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. The new 4-chair salon occupies 800 sq. ft. of space and provides employment for 4 full and part time staff. The Mayor said Lester is a graduate of the Harrisburg School District’s Vo- Tech Program at the William Penn Campus, and is state licensed as both a cosmetologist and a salon manager. She is also studying to be a registered nurse. “Shear Insanity” offers a full range of hair styling and beauty services, including styling, relaxers, colors, cuts, weaves, braids and more, featuring Mizani products, and will soon offer nail service as well “We are very pleased to welcome Tashia to the Harrisburg business community, and take special pride in knowing she is one of our own who is now embarking upon her own private business,” said Mayor Reed. “Tashia epitomizes the entrepreneurial spirit of our nation, and has worked very hard to attain this lifelong dream. We wish her great success.” Reed said “Shear Insanity” is open Tuesdays and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Shear Insanity” is closed Sundays and Mondays.
