NEW PALUMBO’S ITALIAN EATERY ADDS TO RESTAURANT ROW OFFERINGSMayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to officially dedicate the new Palumbo’s Italian Eatery in the heart of downtown’s Restaurant Row at 104 N. 2nd Street. The new culinary attraction features the venerable Palumbo’s famous pizzas and Italian cuisine. Reed said the downtown Palumbo’s is owned by the Blue Grotto LLC and operated by brothers Anthony and Giuseppe Palumbo, who are continuing their father Carlo’s legacy of fine Italian dining. In addition to their father’s first restaurant in Allentown, the brothers also operate Palumbo’s restaurants in Mechanicsburg, New York City, North Carolina,Virginia and now Harrisburg. They have additionally opened and later sold a number of other midstate restaurant locations over the past several years, including one in the city at the Uptown Plaza. Indoor seating for 26 is available, as well as 10 al fresco seats for warmer month outdoor dining. The new business provides 5 new full and part time jobs. Reed said Palumbo’s has an extensive menu of largely Italian dishes, with their signature “Grandma” pizzas being the primary offering, along with subs and sandwiches. The restaurant also features Palumbo’s Italian foods such as Fettucini Alfredo, Veal Parmesan, lasagnas, manicottis and much more.
