Harrisburg Ranked In Top Best Cities In The U.S. For Profitable Employees
Harrisburg has been listed in the top five best cities in the United States as being the most profitable for employees, according to Salary.com, which surveyed median base salaries for over 2,500 different types of occupations and compared them to the costs of housing, taxes, living costs, unemployment rates and job growth..

City & AFSCME Union Sign New Two- Year Contract
Mayor Stephen R. Reed and representatives from the City’s AFSCME Local 521 today signed a two-year labor contract that will provide over $1.5 million in savings to city taxpayers through late 2006, and includes a wage freeze during 2005 for all management and Local 521 members.

Illegal Truck, Boat &Trailer Parking Fine Raised To $250.00
Mayor Stephen today announced that fines for the illegal parking of tractor-trailer trucks, boats, motor homes and other trailers on city streets has been increased to $250.00 per citation. Previous fines were only $15.00.

Tree Planting Scheduled For Earth Day
On Earth Day, Friday April 22, at 10 AM, the Pennsylvania Green Industry Foundation, Inc., producers of the annual Pennsylvania Garden Expo at the Farm Show Complex, will conduct a tree planting at Harrisburg City Island, Mayor Steve Reed announced today.Read More…
