Reed Appoints New Special Events Director For City

Mayor Stephen R. Reed has appointed Charles A. Schulz as Special Events Director for the City of Harrisburg, filling a position that has been vacant since November 2004. Mayor Reed said that the Department of Parks and Recreation received over 200 applications for the position.

Suspect Arrested In Downtown Garage Murder

Mayor Stephen R. Reed this afternoon announced that Harrisburg Police have arrested 27-year old Kareem George in connection with the fatal shooting of Donnell Haith on December 20, 2002. Haith, 27, was shot to death at the River Street Garage following an earlier altercation at a downtown nightclub.

Wife Charged With Husbaand's Slaying In Afternoon City Homicide

Mayor Stephen R. Reed this evening said that Harrisburg Police have arrested 31-year old Addie Palache in connection with early afternoon slaying of her husband, 33-year old Stanfford Palache, of 1829 Regina Street.

Suspect Arrested In Early Morning Homicide In 2300 Block Of Penn ST.

Mayor Stephen R. Reed this morning announced that Harrisburg Police have arrested 50-year old William P. Mills III, who is expected to be charged with Homicide in connection with the overnight shooting death of 25-year old Latasha Gibson. The incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. this morning at their 2323 Penn Street home. Mills was arrested at the scene.

Property Owners Urged To File Homestead Tax Exemption By March 1; Filers To Receive Hundreds Of Dollars In Local Tax Reductions

Property owners in Harrisburg and Dauphin County could receive hundreds of dollars in property tax refunds and reductions, but only if they file for the special relief by March 1, Mayor Stephen R. Reed and Dauphin County Commissioners Jeff Haste, Nick DiFrancesco and George Hartwick today said in urging Dauphin County property owners to file their Homestead Exclusions.
