CHURCHWORLD RETAILER OPENS IN UPTOWNHarrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to dedicate the new ChurchWorld retail store at 609 Division Street in the city’s Uptown. The innovative new retailer features Central Pennsylvania’s largest selection of religious and inspirational cards, books, gift items, apparel, religious software and other faith-based items, as well as copying and printing services. Reed said ChurchWorld is owned and operated by Reverend Lillie B. McMullen and her husband Michael A. McMullen, Sr. Realized at a cost of more than $150,000 in new private investment, the distinctive specialty retailer occupies 5,000 sq. ft. of retail space and provides five new full and part time positions. The Mayor said the McMullen’s founded ChurchWorld with the belief that area churches need to keep pace with changing social dynamics and technological advancements, therein helping congregations to operate more efficiently and communicate more effectively. In addition to offering a wide array of religious gifts and support systems, ChurchWorld also contains a full-service copying and printing production center, which can print church programs, brochures and booklets. Reed said ChurchWorld is unique in the midstate in the products and services offered: “ChurchWorld is an innovative retailer that in essence furthers the McMullen’s long held ministry of service to God.
