‘PERKS N’BRIBES’ GIFT SHOP UNDER NEW MANAGEMENTHarrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today conducted the grand re-opening of the popular Perks N’ Bribes gift and card shop located at 225 N. 2nd Street in downtown. The unique retailer was recently purchased by noted midstate entrepreneur David Ferris. Reed said Perks N’Bribes strives to be the region’s favored location for city and state souvenirs and novelties, as well as a preferred specialty gift retailer, carrying such items and lines as gift baskets, Yankee Candles, Recycled and Farside Greeting Cards, Balloons and Balloon Art, Ty Plus Products, bachelor and bachelorette gifts, Over The Hill gag gifts, custom specialty promotional items and much more. The store has also added PA Lottery ticket sales to its expansive inventory. The Mayor said Perks N’Bribes occupies 1000 sq. ft. of restored space in the heart of downtown’s Restaurant Row, and provides employment for several full and part-time employees. Professional clown and former Balloon City owner Pam Holzman serves as manager of the distinctive retail shop, while magician and former Illusion House owner Keith Dittenhafer serves as Assistant Manager. Noted marketer Jamie Ferris serves as the store’s display manager and weekend manager. “We are very pleased with Perks N’Bribes continued operations in Harrisburg,” said Mayor Reed, “and we extend our appreciation to long time civic leader and entrepreneur David Ferris for his significant investment in this ‘comedic icon’ of downtown retailing.
