STATEMENT OF MAYOR STEPHEN R. REED ON THE MARCH 5, 2004 DEATH OF NICHOLAS DATTILO, BISHOP OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF HARRISBURG

Harrisburg, PA—“We are deeply saddened at the passing from temporal life of Bishop Dattilo. He was a good and decent man, whose life was devoted to God’s work on Earth. He was a priest who brought zeal and a joyful heart to his ministry. We pray for him and the Diocese as the Bishop answers this final call of the Lord. We pray as well for Pope John Paul II, who must now name his successor.”
