CITY TO BEGIN WATER SYSTEM FLUSHING THIS WEEKEND, CONTINUE THROUGH JUNEHarrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the City of Harrisburg will begin its annual water system flushing this coming Sunday, June 8, and continue until the end of the month. The annual maintenance task may result in some discolored water or low-pressure problems in areas where the flushing is occurring, and customers can alleviate the problem by leaving their water run for a few minutes before using. The Mayor said the annual flushing project, which will occur daily between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3:30 a.m., helps to ensure water quality for users and ensures that fire hydrants are properly functioning. The flushing will occur throughout the City of Harrisburg and customers of the Harrisburg Water System in Susquehanna Township and Penbrook Borough. XXX |
