The Mayor’s Annual NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION has become a staple event for City residents, businesses, visitors, and kids of all ages. Featuring upscale live musical entertainment, the festivities also offer street-vendors; hot beverages; strolling performers; horse-drawn carriage rides; a spectacular fireworks display launched directly over Market Square; and the dropping of the City’s signature giant lighted strawberry at midnight. Boasting tens of thousands in attendance, the New Years Eve Celebration event coordinates with many downtown and midtown restaurants and bars; the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, and even several retailers.
