About the Credit Collection Unit
The Credit Collection Unit is responsible for the collection of utility payments and city and school district real estate taxes. City utility services are provided to city residents and commercial users as well as to six outlying municipalities including Susquehanna Township, Lower Paxton Township, Swatara Township, Penbrook Borough, Steelton Borough and Paxtang Borough. Customer Service Representatives provide billing information and establish payment schedules for those who fall behind in their utility payments. In cases where a chronic delinquency exists, procedures for water service termination are initiated to motivate property owners to pay their utility bills on a timely basis. When these collection efforts fail, this unit also initiates legal action against the debtor.
