Lead-based paint hazards are defined as any condition that causes exposure to lead from lead-contaminated dust, soil, or paint that is deteriorated or present in accessible surfaces, friction surfaces, or impact surfaces that would result in adverse human health effects as established by a federal agency. To address the hazards of lead poisoning through exposure to lead-based paint, the City has successfully participated in the Lead Hazard Control program for the past 10 years.
To help address Lead Hazards in your home: Grants up to $8,000/unit are available to qualified property owners (owner or rental units) to address Lead-Based Paint hazards.
