The popular annual holiday tradition kicks off the Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and New Year’s Eve Season for the region. 11-15-09 NEW STREET TREES TO BE PLANTED IN HARRISBURG DOWNTOWN Mayor Stephen R. Reed and the Harristown Development Corporation today announced that 34 new trees are being planted in downtown Harrisburg this week to enhance and beautify the Central Business District. Reed today announced that the city’s Planning and Zoning Code has been entirely rewritten, updated and streamlined, marking the first comprehensive overhaul of the code in over a half-century. 11-09-09 CITY OF HARRISBURG RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FOR ONGOING SAFE WATER PRACTICES Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said that the City of Harrisburg has again received the annual national Director’s Award of recognition from the Partnership for Safe Water, a national volunteer initiative developed by the U. S.
