PROJECT DESCRIPTION

arrowPROJECT NUMBER 2220-09 – SCHOOL CROSSWALKS PROJECT (REBID)

Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Harrisburg, Office of Purchasing, 10 North Second Street, Suite 304A, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17101, until 3:00 P.M., Monday – November 30, 2009 at which time they will be publicly opened and read in Suite 304B of the same building immediately thereafter.

Bid security in the amount of ten percent of the total bid amount is required with each bid submitted in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, treasurer's check, an irrevocable letter of credit drawn on a bank acceptable to the City or a bid bond. Copies of the Project Documents, including specifications, may be seen at and obtained from the Office of Purchasing, 10 North Second Street, Suite 304, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17101, (717) 255-6472.

Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statutes, rules and regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and preservation of public, natural resources that affect the project, said provisions being submitted as part of the specifications pursuant to Act 247 of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania approved October 26, 1972.

Bidders must be PennDot prequalified as specified in section 102.01, of Publication 408. Contractors qualifying as subcontractors may submit bids as prime contractor, consistent with their qualifications and as specified in section 108.01, Publication 408.

This project is subject to the Davis-Bacon Wage Rates.

The City of Harrisburg, in accordance with Title VI of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Parts 21 and 23 of 49 C.F.R., notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure the DBE will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and that no person will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award.
