The City Park System
  • There are 28 parks, playgrounds, open space areas, two swimming pools, a lake, twenty vacant parcels, two softball fields, one combination sports complex, numerous basketball and tennis courts in the City Park System.

  • The City Park System is comprised of more than 450 acres of turf (which is mowed weekly during summer months)

  • There are over 50,000 shade trees in City Parks and along City streets.

  • The Riverfront Park embankment is 4.5 miles in length.

  • The Capitol Area Greenbelt is comprised of approximately 1,200 acres
