Harrisburg, the capital city of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, seeks a highly motivated individual to meet the challenges of continued community and economic development and historic preservation. This position has overall responsibility to ensure that federal and state funds received by the City and administered by the Department of Building and Housing Development (DBHD), Bureau of Housing, and associated non-profit agencies are expended and reported in accordance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, guidelines, and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining all financial and ancillary records pertaining to the Bureau’s grants and grants programs.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in public or business administration with a major in accounting, finance, grant administration, public policy or related field; or three (3) years of experience in the implementation and administration of federally funded programs, preferably in housing and community development block grant programs; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Applicants must also possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, class C, or equivalent.
The successful candidate must establish residency within the corporate limits of the City of Harrisburg within one year from date of hire.
The City of Harrisburg offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience ($40,000.00 - $42,000.00 DOQ), plus an excellent benefits package.
